Despite their Liverpool roots, The Wombats recorded Oh! The Ocean in LA, and Murph found his greatest inspiration not from the city’s buzz but from a quiet family beach trip. He described it as the first time he truly saw the ocean, sparking the introspective lyrics across the album.
